Southampton and Winchester Visitors Group (SWVG) is a group of volunteers who befriend and support refugees and people seeking asylum in the Southampton and Winchester area. We run a drop-in centre, help guide people through the asylum system, give financial assistance to people who are destitute, teach English, organise trips, and run a cooking group and a bike hub. We work with many other local charities, visit schools, and advocate for a fairer asylum system. We help people with Leave to Remain find housing and enter the job market.
