This year NACCOM’s Annual Conference, taking place on Tuesday 25th September in Birmingham, looks at promoting pathways out of destitution through partnerships, provision and policy change.

With input from a range of experts in the field, it is a great opportunity to meet others in the network and beyond. We hope you can join us- click here to get your tickets today.

Don’t forget, if you are a NACCOM member, early bird ticket prices are on sale just for one more week (£15 per person until 20th July, after that, £25 per person). Non-member tickets are £40.

In the meantime, here’s a little summary of just some of the activities and sessions that will be taking place at the conference.

Paul Catterall, Network Development Worker for NACCOM, will facilitate a session on Exploring Different Accommodation Models For Housing’, looking at different housing schemes within the network and inspiring delegates to explore new things or develop what you are already doing in a more sustainable way.

Hazel Williams, our National Director (NACCOM) will facilitate a session onAccess to Justice’, sharing learning from the network on the barriers to legal advice that are being faced and addressed by members. The session will also feature input from Refugee Action’s Good Practice Team on the help they can offer members with this key issue.

Praxis Community Projects and IMiX, two of the organisations involved in highlighting the suffering of people from the Windrush generation earlier this year, will share learning from the campaign and thoughts for the future in a session entitled ‘Lessons from Windrush in Championing Long-term Change’.

Mirjam Thullesen, a UKCP registered Psychotherapist, will facilitate a session on Looking After Yourself’, identifying issues related to vicarious trauma, helping you to recognise how this may be having an impact on you, and giving some tips on how to look after yourself.

Dave Smith, Network Development Worker for NACCOM, will facilitate a session onDeveloping a Successful Hosting Scheme’. Featuring input from network members, this workshop will explore different ways of operating hosting schemes and look at key issues and ways forward.

Alongside workshops, a new feature this year will be an interactive Member’s Market, where delegates can learn more about each other’s work and develop connections for the year ahead.

There will also be the launch of our first ever NACCOM promotional video, featuring input from members in Birmingham.

We’d love to see you there to help us achieve our collective aim to end destitution.
