We are looking for an organised self-starter with strong interpersonal skills who can help us in developing our approach, recruiting and training volunteers and so expand our operations.

Our project is a stepping stone to wider work we have in mind to improve the support available across South Wales, with the current part-time role available for a year.

The partners, Home4U and Sharedydd accommodate their destitute asylum seeker guests in the Cardiff area where it is realistic to give them the opportunity to progress their cases. Home4U places them in a house and Sharedydd places them with hosts who are prepared to offer a room. Both organisations have considerable track record in this area and are volunteer led.

The work involves: introducing an integrated approach with partners to identify who we might help and improve support for guests; recruiting and training volunteer ‘link workers’; facilitating more placements; reducing periods of destitution and supporting opportunities for capacity building as they arise in surrounding areas.

The role is for 16 hours a week, pro rata at a full time equivalent salary of £25,000.[/toggle]
