NACCOM is pleased to launch our new Housing Toolkit – a comprehensive resource for existing and proposed housing projects that accommodate destitute people who are seeking asylum, refugees and other migrants.

The toolkit is the latest in a series of practical guides launched by NACCOM to provide expert guidance and advice to individuals and organisations that work with – or wish to work with – people in the asylum system experiencing destitution.

The Housing Toolkit follows NACCOM’s Hosting Toolkit and Funding Toolkit – they are all free resources available to members and anyone with an interest in these areas.

Authored by NACCOM’s Paul Catterall, our Network Development Coordinator and former CEO of Open Door North East in Middlesbrough, the Housing Toolkit aims to provide a step-by-step guide to the main legal, operational and financial considerations for charities, individuals or groups interested in, or in the process of, setting up a housing project.

Chapters in the housing toolkit cover the following topics:

➡️ Setting up a housing project

➡️ Running a housing project

➡️ Specifications, Health and Safety, and Fire Risk Assessment

➡️ Income from housing

➡️ Further resources and useful links
