NACCOM is excited to start the recruitment process for our new Director:

Role: Director

Location: Home-based , with regular travel to London and around the UK

Salary: £41,881-£44,863 per annum

About the role:

NACCOM has developed significantly in recent years to gain national recognition for our work in challenging destitution and supporting practical responses to homelessness, especially following the support of a Guardian and Observer Winter Appeal in 2017. We are now looking for a collaborative leader to deliver a new strategy that will see us grow our impact, address the root causes of destitution and facilitate those with lived experience to influence systemic change. Our new Director will lead our dedicated staff, members and Board to support them to be as effective and impactful as possible. This will include ensuring the organisation is well resourced, well networked and develops a best practice approach to supporting our members, as well as amplifying the voices of our network and those with lived experience to call for positive change to legislation and policy.

We are looking for a leader who is excited by the opportunity to deliver real impact for the members we support. You will bring a track record of advocating for the rights of those who are marginalised and experience of developing strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders that deliver mutually beneficial outcomes to maximize impact for vulnerable people. With the ability to operate strategically and flexibly within a small organisation with UK wide reach, you will have proven experience of maximising resources, including income, and providing staff with the necessary support as they develop. You will be a persuasive communicator, able to leverage your strong empathy for the destitution of others. Ideally you will bring experience of working with people seeking asylum, refugees and migrants in the UK with No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF), or with those experiencing homelessness, poverty, exclusion or isolation.

We are an increasingly diverse organisation, and have benefitted enormously from the diversity and dynamism of our member organisations. Our vision is to ensure that the voices and views of those with lived experience of the asylum system inform all aspects of our work, but recognise that we have more to do to fully reflect such diversity. We actively encourage the widest possible range of candidates and welcome applicants regardless of race, sexual orientation, disability, faith, age and gender. We encourage candidates with lived experience of the asylum system as well as lived experience of homelessness, poverty, exclusion, isolation and wider discrimination.

Deadline for applications: Wednesday 21st April 2021
