Hope Projects is recruiting for:

Job title: ASYLUM CASEWORKER/LEGAL ADVISOR- OISC LEVEL 2

Salary: £21,053 for 4 days a week, (Pro Rata of £26,317)

Hours: 28 hours – Monday to Thursday

Contract: Permanent (5 years funding has been obtained)

Location: Working from Hope’s Birmingham office and Home as required

Hope Projects (West Midlands) Ltd is a charity providing support to asylum seekers who have exhausted all rights of appeal. Our legal project is registered with the OISC at Level 3 enabling our advisor to provide legal asylum advice. Hope’s aim is to provide legal advice to asylum seekers who are ‘Appeal Rights Exhausted’ (ARE) with a view to assisting individuals to understand why their cases have been refused and to help them work to know the basis on which they can make a new protection claim.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Advice Services Manager to lead our team of specialist advisors and volunteers. The post holder will manage and develop a vibrant service providing specialist immigration and welfare advice, casework and support to migrants and refugees including undocumented migrants, women at risk of gender based violence, families with No Recourse to Public Funds and street homeless migrants. You must have a successful track record in leading and motivating teams, managing grant funded projects and contracts, developing innovative models of advice services and providing strategic direction for the development of legal services. You must hold an OISC L3 qualification or be a qualified solicitor with relevant experience in immigration and/or housing law.

Praxis has an exciting opportunity for a driven campaigner to launch our exciting new campaign challenging the use of No Recourse to Public Fund (NRPF) condition.  Working collaboratively with people with lived experience of the NRPF condition, you will develop, implement and evaluate a campaigns strategy to mobilise public support, amplify the voices of those with experience of NRPF, and lead a movement to secure lasting changes to policy and practice and an end to the NRPF condition.

You will have experience in developing and delivering public campaign work, including creating high quality, creative communications and content for a variety of media to support campaign objectives. This campaign will be co-produced with our service users, so you must also have an understanding of best practice of service user involvement methodologies and facilitation skills.

Overview:

King’s Arms Project provide bespoke ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) tuition for our non-English speaking clients to help them further build community and open up further employment opportunities.

To further support this service we are setting up a Crèche at Christ Church, Bedford, to support those families with young children. We have appointed a team but are looking to recruit a number of Bank Staff on zero hour contracts to support the team, as and when required. We are looking for individuals from Assistant to Room Leader level.

You will perform an important role caring for children, maintaining a high-quality, stimulating learning environment and will be a creative and reflective individual, able to implement new ideas to continually improve practice and support the management team.
