Job Title – Housing Project Worker (Administration)

• Initially for 12 Months (6 months probation) and subject to approval permanent at the end of 12 months

• Closing date Friday 31st March. Interviews within two weeks.

• Salary £14,456 to £18,126 for 4 days a week, 30 hours with 20 days paid holiday (£18,070 to £22,658 per annum full time equivalent. Salary dependant on experience)

Job Purpose: You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of project administration, with a particular focus on the housing and refugee advice projects. You will support the Housing Manager in developing housing management systems and supporting refugee tenants in managing their tenancy. You will be responsible for maintaining project spread sheets / databases and for compiling relevant reports on project target outcomes. You will oversee Open Door’s administration and reception volunteers.

Job details- This is an exciting opportunity to use your skills, energy and enthusiasm to make a real difference to a vibrant local charity which supports destitute asylum seekers. ASSIST Sheffield wouldn’t exist without the commitment and hard work of a volunteer-force of around 300 people. You’ll be leading ASSIST’s volunteering programme, to ensure safe, strategic and successful recruitment of volunteers to the wide range of roles which are crucial to the organisation. You’ll be resourcing and facilitating all those who coordinate volunteers at ASSIST, to ensure that volunteers have a good experience. You’ll offer ongoing learning opportunities to support the organisation to recruit, train, engage, support, and appreciate volunteers in line with UK law and sector best practice. You’ll lead in the collaborative development, delivery and ongoing evaluation of ASSIST’s volunteering policy, to further ASSIST’s objectives. You’ll be innovative and self reliant with a ‘can-do’ attitude, but equally able to work collaboratively and consultatively. You’ll be a clear communicator with an eye for detail and quality. You’ll have great organisational skills and be highly confident using ICT to make administrative and communications tasks easier.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Support Worker to join our Action Letting and Housing team that provides supported accommodation to new refugees and destitute asylum seekers. We currently manage 15 properties, supporting up to 61 clients across both projects in Newcastle, Gateshead and Sunderland. If you have experience working in a casework environment, experience of leading a team, experience of working with vulnerable adults and a strong awareness of the issues facing refugees and asylum seekers we would love to hear from you!
