Church of England competition for church-led housing projects meeting an identified housing need

The Church of England has launched a competition to support five church-led projects that are looking to build community and empower people, whilst also meeting an identified housing need.

Applicants are invited from churches of all denominations that are actively exploring the possibility of a small-scale housing scheme using church land or buildings to meet a local housing need.

This exciting initiative has been launched by the Archbishop of Canterbury’s Commission on Housing, Church and Community, helping local churches respond effectively and creatively to the housing crisis.

The Church of England will offer free expert advice to five church-led projects – up to five days each – and harness the support of potential funders and partner organisations.

NACCOM was consulted as part of an initial scoping exercise for the project, and we hope that some of our members who meet the eligibility criteria will be in a position to apply.

Anyone interested in applying needs to complete the expression of interest form by March 20th 2020.
